So, my RetroPie build finally got started – is it finished ? No. Doubt it ever will be thanks to the amount of systems it can emulate and tweaking etc you can do. Playable ? Hell yes ๐Ÿ™‚

So whats my setup so far

  • Raspberry Pi 3B+
  • Official 3B+ case
  • 32GB Stronium MicroSD card
  • Playmax USB joypad

  • RetroPie 4.4
  • A heap of ROM’s (not, I won’t share)
  • Steven Selphโ€™s auto scraper

Working Systems

  • Sega Mastersystem
  • Sega Megadrive
  • NES
  • SNES

So installing RetroPie and getting that running is pretty straightforward. So I wont go into detail on that.

The one thing I really wanted, was to see screenshots/titles of the games etc I have loaded. By default, it does not scrape these. So I tried the scraping option – it failed. It wouldnt even try to find anything.

So I found RetroPie comes with another scraping tool, but is a little more complex to get to, especially if youre not a fan of CLI/Linux based systems.

Anyway, I used the information here – and as I type this, my Pi is busy scraping away… ๐Ÿ™‚

So shortly, I should have a whizzy looking RetroPie setup ๐Ÿ™‚
