{"id":12,"date":"2026-02-20T13:34:35","date_gmt":"2026-02-20T00:34:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/xpd.co.nz\/?page_id=12"},"modified":"2026-04-07T14:37:59","modified_gmt":"2026-04-07T02:37:59","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/xpd.co.nz\/index.php\/about\/","title":{"rendered":"About"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>XPD \/ Demise \/ FastRaccoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>40 something years old, dad, husband, gamer, geek along with a bit of fishing and<br>photography thrown in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>My actual computing days started back when I got one of the first Commodore Amiga 500<br>Plus units in the country, but I\u2019d been a gamer since before then on an Atari 2600, and friends<br>various systems (Amiga\u2019s, PC\u2019s, Sega\u2019s etc).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Didn\u2019t have the Amiga too long before I started upgrading it and got into BBS\u2019s and<br>eventually stared my own BBS which ran for a number of years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Final setup before my Amiga died, was A500 Plus, 2MB Chip RAM, 4MB Fast RAM, GVPA530<br>expansion, EC030 @ 40MHz, 120MB SCSI HDD running soft kicked to Kickstart 3.1. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The A530 I upgraded to run a GURURom which opened its potential up even more allowing the drive to<br>run even faster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>I still love the Amiga to this day, is a fantastic system and was well ahead of its time.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019m a geek gamer at heart.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Have owned and gamed on :<br>Atari 2600, Amiga 500 Plus, Amiga CD32, Playstation, Playstation 2, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox<br>One, Xbox One S, iCade Arcade, Raspberry Pi, PC, R36S Clone and probably more I\u2019ve forgotten.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I have multiple Playstations in various conditions, with the aim of building one of each totally<br>reconditioned and running.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The iCade system, does work but was in rough condition, so the plan has been to restore it.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I have owned more Amigas since my original ones, however the cost involved in getting them<br>back to decent spec to run without floppy discs etc, is time and financial based. So I cheated<br>and bought a mini Amiga 500.
