About

XPD / Demise / FastRaccoon.

40 something years old, dad, husband, gamer, geek along with a bit of fishing and
photography thrown in.

My actual computing days started back when I got one of the first Commodore Amiga 500
Plus units in the country, but I’d been a gamer since before then on an Atari 2600, and friends
various systems (Amiga’s, PC’s, Sega’s etc).

Didn’t have the Amiga too long before I started upgrading it and got into BBS’s and
eventually stared my own BBS which ran for a number of years.

Final setup before my Amiga died, was A500 Plus, 2MB Chip RAM, 4MB Fast RAM, GVPA530
expansion, EC030 @ 40MHz, 120MB SCSI HDD running soft kicked to Kickstart 3.1.

The A530 I upgraded to run a GURURom which opened its potential up even more allowing the drive to
run even faster.

I still love the Amiga to this day, is a fantastic system and was well ahead of its time.

I’m a geek gamer at heart.

Have owned and gamed on :
Atari 2600, Amiga 500 Plus, Amiga CD32, Playstation, Playstation 2, Playstation 3, Xbox
One, iCade Arcade, Raspberry Pi, PC, R36S Clone and probably more I’ve forgotten.

I have multiple Playstations in various conditions, with the aim of building one of each totally
reconditioned and running.

The iCade system, does work but was in rough condition, so the plan has been to restore it.

I have owned more Amigas since my original ones, however the cost involved in getting them
back to decent spec to run without floppy discs etc, is time and financial based. So I cheated
and bought a mini Amiga 500. Now with a full sized A1200 version on the way, I’ll probably
grab one of those or a Pi400/Pi500.
