I have the following related to retro gaming :
Arcade system
I was given this full size arcade machine, which contains around 40 games onboard, fully working, but in rough condition. My long term plan is to re-condition it all. I’ve started the process by stripping most of it down, but just need to get myself motivated to start the restoration.
Sega
My daughter came home with a box she picked up out of a junk pile one day, and inside was a Sega Dreamcast with a few controllers. No idea if it works, I suspect the internal PSU is shot. Will look at finding a replacement PSU and see what happens.
Atari
Picked up an almost new Atari Gamestation Pro unit for $120NZD from Facebook (RRP $220NZD). Brings back some memories of classic gaming with mates. Extra bonus I found after looking online, is that you can use the SD slot for a few other gaming systems, such as NES, SNES, Sega, MAME etc.
Playstation
I own a PS3, which I purchased new in 2010 – and its still working – mostly.
Was given in 2024, a box containing 7 original Playstation 1 consoles and a few controllers. Have fired up a couple of them and to my surprise, seem to work to a degree. Will work on these and get at least one completely working unit.
XBox
Have one original Xbox, modchipped, but not working. Not taken much of a look at it at this point.
Also have an Xbox One which my wife won years ago. Overall, still working except the BR drive is a little twitchy. Did have to replace the wifi controller board in it as well, which appears to be a common thing with these units. Was a $20 and 1 hour fix.
Amiga
Amiga500 Mini is one of my favorites as I love the Amiga. Will be honest and admit not used it much, but mainly due to time, moving house etc. Will spend more time with this soon.
Emulation (Windows / Raspberry Pi)
Have a decent collection ROMs for all sorts of systems collected over the years.
