Gave the home server bit of a tidy up today, it needed it.
- Replaced SATA cables with matching black cables
- Tidied up all the PSU cabling and cable tied
- Added additional front fan for HDD cooling
Still looks a mess, but better than it was, and when you’re on a budget, you do what you can, with what you have on hand.
So now the maintenance has been completed, thought I’d give a full break down on the server hardware.
- Case – Antec (Not sure what model, was a hand me down from a friend)
- PSU – DeepCool 600W PF600x
- CPU – Intel Core i5 6500
- Motherboard – Asus H110M-A
- RAM – 2x 8GB Samsung DDR4-2666 (1333 MHz)
- Primary drive – Samsung 850 EVO 500GB (SATA (SSD)
- Data Drives – 4x 3726GB TOSHIBA MG03ACA400
- 1x 3726GB Seagate ST4000DM004-2CV104
- 1x 3726GB Seagate ST4000VN008-2DR166
- 1x 3726GB Seagate ST4000DM004-2CV104
- Network – Gigabit fed by a 500/100 fiber connection
Old ? Yup. Mess ? Yup. Heavy ? Fuck yes.
But it works and does what I want.
Love to upgrade to a 14th Gen system, but money does come into it.
