One thing you find a lot of Tapo camera owners asking, is if they can access the cameras from another device other than the Tapo app on iPhone/Android.
A lot of search results say “YES” – when 90% of the time the answer is actually “NO”.
So for the yes answer :
- Run Bluestacks – Android emulator on Windows.
And thats about it….
However.
Some of the Tapo cameras use different protocols to stream the video to your phone, and you can actually take advantage of this and use 3rd party programs such as VLC, to access the live video.
I have three Tapo devices, and only one supports this. 🙁
Tapo D210 (Doorbell) – No
Tapo C401 (Outdoor solar powered) – No
Tapo C110 – Yes
