Was looking for something new to read/listen to, when I came across a Reddit post about “LitRPG” – had no clue what that was but found its meaning – “literary role playing game, is a literary genre combining the conventions of computer RPGs with science-fiction and fantasy novels.” – Wikipedia
Dungeon Crawler Carl (DCC) was mentioned a number of times in the Reddit, so grabbed a copy of the audiobook.
If you like gaming (particularly RPG), D&D, and snobbish talking cats, then this series will be right up your alley!
Carl is your typical “Joe”, who along with his cat, survive an alien cleansing of Earth, and end up being forced, with other survivors, into a galactic TV show, which is a cross between Survivor, and Dungeons & Dragons.
Carl drinks, swears, and kicks arse, along with his ex-girlfriend’s prize winning cat, Doughnut who discovers she has a voice and does’nt mind using it.
Humor is a big part of the book, and references to multiple movies/games/books that any geek will pick up on and enjoy.
Give it a go, pretty sure you’ll enjoy it.
